ELFC received a grant in 2009 to create a self-sustaining, online, interactive map of Maine's food system that will: increase consumer access to local foods; facilitate connections between producers, processors, distributors and resources; and identify needs, economic opportunities and partnerships throughout the state.

Our Purpose
to get more Maine food on more Maine tables more often! The Eat Local Foods Coalition (ELFC) is a state-wide non-profit network that seeks social change at a fundamental level: changing what we eat and how we make decisions about what we buy. ELFC is a coalition of organizations and individuals interested in creating a shift towards a locally-based food system that is economically vibrant, environmentally sustainable, and healthy.
