Our Purpose

Eastie Farm is dedicated to improving food access and community resilience through the development of interactive urban agricultural spaces, where residents of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to learn and take part in the production of healthy, locally-grown, and culturally relevant foods. We strive to foster resilience in the community so that community remains a strong entity during good times and bad times. We do this through community urban farming, supporting a vehicle for transformation of abandoned urban spaces into food-growing, community gathering, eco-healing, educational, beautiful, and happy spaces. Our purpose is to...
  1. Demonstrate that healthy food can be grown locally and in non-conventional spaces
  2. Build community inclusively and help foster shared spaces
  3. Educate community (especially children) in eco-consciousness, where food comes from, and climate change resiliency
