EN’s mission is to provide services for all seniors age 55+ who need help and want to age-in-place regardless of economic status. We envision a society where all stages of life offer meaningful opportunities for growth, connection and joy; where people of all backgrounds and economic means can age with dignity, purpose and self-determination. To those ends, EN was founded as a ‘no fee’ Village, eliminating any barriers for older adults in need and who choose to age in place. The services EN provides are designed to fill in the “gap” of services for seniors that other community organizations deliver. We accomplish this by bringing the services directly to the homes of our senior members. Even when most immediate needs are addressed, and an older adult is able to remain independently at home, loneliness and social isolation may remain significant barriers to quality of life. There is evidence to suggest that the quality of interactions (service, one on one, etc.) is more likely to impact social isolation rather than the quantity of interactions.  Our individualized social visits foster relationship building and work to minimize both loneliness and social isolation. EN hopes to expand its offerings to include more programs that will deepen our level of commitment of providing opportunities that would have a positive impact on this issue.
