Dalton Public Library
Our Purpose
The Dalton Public Library’s broader goal is to strengthen community connection and improve equitable access to educational resources in a rural area where opportunities and services can be limited. The library serves as one of the few shared public spaces in the community and aims to create welcoming, accessible opportunities for residents of all ages to learn, connect, and access information. This work is driven by the belief that small rural communities benefit from strong local spaces that support literacy, resource sharing, and neighbor-to-neighbor connection. Through outreach efforts, educational programming, and shared community resources, the library hopes to reduce barriers to access while creating stronger relationships among residents, families, and local organizations. The project reflects a commitment to making the library more visible, accessible, and community-centered beyond the walls of the building itself.
