Our Purpose

Our purpose is to support the often-overlooked experiences of daughters of Cambodian genocide survivors. While much attention has been given to survivors, many in the second generation carry the emotional weight of intergenerational trauma, cultural expectations, and unspoken family histories without access to safe, culturally responsive spaces for healing. As members of this community, we have witnessed how these challenges impact identity, mental health, and connection. This inspired us to create a small, community-based pilot program that fosters healing, expression, and belonging. Our goal is to offer a creative wellness group where participants engage in guided discussions, expressive arts, and peer support. This space will allow participants to process their experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves and their cultural identity. Through this work, we aim to strengthen individual well-being while fostering a more connected, supported, and resilient community.
