CREA
Our Purpose
CREA, our parent group, is a 501C3 organization working on a spectrum of issues related to sustainable communities, human rights and labor rights, corporate responsibility, etc. Using Pope Francis' publication: Laudato Si' which was released 2 years ago, CREA has created educational materials on the environmental and associated economic issues which were brought to people's attention in that writing. Please note: the website listed below is CREA's. If we receive funding, we will be able to add the group's work to the website, After more than 60 workshops in the past two years, the volunteer group that had been working ad hoc, was created last year to put together the needed educational materials.. The group meets approximately 1/week but at times more than that when working on a specific topic. Decisions are made by consensus, with different people taking leadership depending on their specific skills. Funding will help us expand both the group and the work. We have, in the past, been able to publish some of the materials in both Spanish and English. This is both time and materials consuming...and we hope that additional funding will help us expand this work. The materals we are creating are in response to people asking over and over: "where do we find information about this?" They range from the dangers of fracking waste being transported from state to state to expanding our understanding of the Common Good and the danger of privatizing infrastruture repairs that id being proposed by the current administration in Washington. Other issues have included the dangers of bottled water, relationship ofland use and climate change, etc.
