Craftsbury Farmers Market
Our Purpose
For nineteen years the Craftsbury Farmers Market has offered local and fresh foods including vegetables, meats, culturally diverse and traditional prepared foods, baked goods, Vermont maple syrup, cheeses, flowers, raw honey, natural fiber products, and locally crafted items. Craftsbury is a town of just over 1,000 with a rich agricultural economy and tight-knit community. Our weekly farmers market operates annually from the late-May to early-October on Saturdays. We set up on Craftsbury Common, a beautiful open space flanked by historic homes, the local school, church, and library, and the campus of Sterling College. In the summer/fall, the farmer's market offers a place for community members to gather, eat, play, and support local growers and makers. We attract people from surrounding communities, as well as visitors from out of state with our unique offerings and events. We host live music weekly and regular special events, which include: The Vermont Author's Fest, The Blueberry Festival, The Tomato Tasting, and Old Home Days, along with features and happenings throughout the season. Our market attracts all members of our community, from newborns to the elderly. At any given market there are masses of children, some playing organized soccer, others freely running about, teens eating ice cream around a picnic table, and youth vendors handing out samples. Old friends catch up while others make new connections. Everyone is welcome.
