Our Purpose

to restore, manage and enhance Cove Island Park, with the City of Stamford and the public, for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Of particular interest is the restoration of a diversified habitat of native plants for migrating birds. An outreach feature is to educate the residents of Stamford about the responsibilities we share in a water side community.

Summary of Projects

Cove Island Park Conservancy received a grant in 2011 to assist in the purchase of equipment and materials to aid in the creation of a 7 acre organic "grand lawn" in one of the Stamford’s largest and most well used parks situated on Long Island Sound. This project demonstrates proper lawn care along with reduced fertilizer and pesticide usage as but one component of good land stewardship.
