Gilda, Brad and Jill, as members of Concord's (MA) Sustainable Energy Committee (CSEC), were the leadership team for the Cooler Concord Fair in February 2017. Gilda ran the community-based social marketing, communications and collaboration with schools components. Jill ran strategy, exhibit design, fundraising, budget and overall project management. Brad was technical lead and developed the Carbon Points Estimator and process. The Fair was a very unique and effective event that we believe produced extraordinary results. Yet it was a pilot of many new concepts and we learned a lot. We believe that the Cooler Concord Fair methods and tools should be documented, reviewed and made available to other communities for them to adapt based on their needs. Gilda and Jill have completed their CSEC terms; Brad has 2 years remaining on CSEC. Our overall goal is to bring a Cooler Communities Playbook and improved Carbon Points Estimator to many other communities to help them leverage our experience and tools to be more effective in their own community-based efforts with much less effort and expense.
