Our Purpose

Research and education related to biomass energy impacts on Western Massachusetts forests. Reseach and education on forest use impacts on Western Massachusetts forest health.

Summary of Projects

The group received a grant in 2011 for outreach materials and legal fees.

Concerned Citizens of Franklin County received a NEGEF grant in fall 2010 for general support that includes printing, ads, techncial support and fundrasing costs. CCFC regularly networks with and advises newer groups working on the biomass issue.

The group received a grant in 2009 to organize on behalf of Franklin County residents to ensure that a proposed 47 MW biomass electricity generating facility does not get built in Greenfield, MA.

To support an advocacy campaign to assure that factory farming does not have adverse human health and environmental impacts on the communities in which they are located.
