CROs is a VT-based nonprofit organization supporting communities in a transition era - in the face of climate crisis, pandemic, political and social instability, and unforeseen challenges in the future. We meet the challenges of this era simultaneously with opportunities for possibility and imagination, in an effort to create paths that will serve us all better. CROs centers justice- and relationship-based collaboration in weaving social fabric that addresses present needs while building foundations for climate refuge into the future. CROs is made up of co-leaders collaborating on targeted systemic change projects with teams of multi-racial, intersectional organizers who share anti-oppression values and are motivated to move the social dial.As we’ve participated in advocacy, community organizing, and movement-building ourselves, we saw an opportunity to create better conditions for people on the frontlines of climate crisis and action so that they can be cared for and generate change informed by their unique positionalities. Our internal infrastructure supports the individual needs of a network of grassroots organizers, while weaving connectivity throughout climate justice spheres. Our Community Wellness Gifting is part of this "Hub" model and is the focus of this grant. This is where we connect healing practitioners and climate justice organizers and offer organizers access to a range of local healing modalities (acupuncture, massage, herbal services, etc).
