Our Purpose

Community Permaculture is a community gardens project that pools the resources of local gardeners and volunteers into edible permaculture gardens that apply the principles of agroecology. Our goal is to set up three functional permaculture potluck gardens. During harvest season, community volunteers would collect the garden's bounty and host a community potluck. The potluck would serve two functions: Most importantly, it builds community and provides organic healthy food for those that can't afford. Second, it provides hands-on education for volunteers. Based on the success of proof of concept garden, Community Permaculture is now looking to expand our project into three more community potluck gardens. With these bustling gardens we will be able to dedicate certain gardens to perennial and annual production, allowing for midseason educational demonstrations and gatherings in addition to our harvest season wrap up.
