Our purpose is to:  refit an existing greenhouse house frame with 6mm plasic( 2 layers) and install water, heating and cooling systems. The old frame is approxiametly 20 by 30 feet and will act as a suppliment optional space to our larger 2,000 sq. foot greenhouse.  A generous grant of $4,000 would help us obtain our goal. We are a non-profit Community Solar Greenhouse with only 1 payed employee, myself as manager. We are totally volunteer community based. We have 40 core volunteers that meet three days a week and we have about 250 members year round. Our goal is to teach the community about growing plants: from composting to plant seeding, seed saving, plant propagation, harvesting techniques and pest management. I have recently started a community outreach program with our local high school's Voyager Program which serves students with special needs. Our income is based entirely on plant/produce sales, membership dues and donations. These students come on a bi-weekly rotation to learn about all aspects of a greenhouse and gardening. I have recently retired from 30 years of teaching in our community and want to give back in a way that I know, growing flowers and vegetables and sharing that joy with other people.
