Our Purpose

CPIA has a variety of missions. Road maintenance, pond water quality and compatible uses of the lake are concerns of our membership. Mitigating the spread of this invasive plant is a new goal of our group. Collins Pond Improvement Association was incorporated in 1959.

Summary of Projects

CPIA is involved with the community, actively advocating for the pond and pond users with the town council as a matter of local economy and ecological health. The Association has succeeded in securing some funding for Diver Assisted Suction Harvester (DASH)-related expenses, including in-kind volunteers for all of the diving. The group received a grant to reduce the infestation in Collins Pond of the non-native invasive aquatic plan Hybrid Milfoil using a DASH pontoon boat.
