Cold Hollow to Canada received a grant in 2011 to pay for materials and training to engage community members as “citizen scientists” to learn more about places in the region important to wildlife through tracking training, ongoing monitoring of tracks and road crossings, and a website platform to enter and share collected data.

Our Purpose
To conserve the lands and waters of our region of the Northern Forest for present and future generations of human, plant, and wild animal life. We recognize the importance of taking local action to protect the integrity of the entire Northern Forest by protecting forest in the CHC region. Our goal is to protect the working landscape, ecologically sensitive areas, un-fragmented forest blocks, riparian areas, and open spaces in the participating towns. These goals may be reached by encouraging a strong and sustainable regional economy, by focusing on ways to use our natural resources wisely and maintain a clean environment, and by preserving those characteristics that form the foundation for our shared values that define our communities.
