Our Purpose

Our purpose is to advocate for and implement clean air infrastructure in our community. We have decided to come together as a group of volunteers to address the concerns of many people in the community regarding safety in the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. We know from reading scientific research studies that SARS-CoV2 disproportionally affects disabled and immunocompromised folks, BIPOC people, LGBTQ+ folks, people who are unhoused, and incarcerated folks among other marginalized groups. Clean Air Club BTV a harm reduction project that seeks to educate the public about the ongoing pandemic, as well as help venues, businesses and event hosts contribute making spaces more COVID safe. Using clean air tools like HEPA filters, UVC germicidal lights, and CO2 monitors will allow us to protect the health and safety of everyone in our community. The organization’s founding values are rooted in the concepts of harm reduction, disability justice and anti-carceral approaches to community safety.
