Our Purpose

The purpose of the Chicopee Community Gardens council is to promote urban agriculture and build community through gardening in low-income sections of our city. Our group formed in the beginning of 2014 to discuss the needs of making fresh, locally grown food available to our large low-income population at an affordable/free rate. In addition, CCG will offer educational resources/programs at the garden site. We working closely with the city and recently received a parcel of land to develop at Lincoln Grove Park in the Willimansett section of the city - more than 51% low-income neighborhood.
