Our Purpose

CCFM's mission is to support our farmers and community through a weekly Saturday market where everyone can enjoy the bounty of Central Vermont's farmers. It is important that the market implement systems to ensure that it listens and steps up to support our producers who have historically been underserved. This project will help the market create a fund in order to offer a scholarship program for our future seasons to help subsidize vending fees for any applicants facing barriers, financial or otherwise. CCFM would like to offer the equivalent of equivalent of 2 part time (17 market days vending @35$/day x 2 = $1190) and 2 full time (@ $650 x2 = $1,300.00) vendor scholarships over the next two years. New applicants  will be able to apply for a full or partial portion of their market fees to be covered by this fund. The application fee will consist of a very simple form where producers will explain the barriers they've faced to participating, the benefit that this scholarship will bring to their business viability, and how their inclusion will bring diversity to the market. An additional $500 to be used to research and implement DEI conversation and training for all of our vendors, board members, managers and volunteers, and an additional $500 will be spent on marketing/advertising to let the community know about the opportunity. CCFM is a key community organization in the Montpelier area and therefore needs to lead the charge in equity action.
