To understand Canaan’s needs, we have gathered a lot of data from surveys, meetings with town officials, community forums and discussions with senior citizen residents and visitors relating to what matters most to Canaan and ways to enhance the town. We also conducted an inventory of existing senior services in the town—ranging from health and social service organizations to organizations offering non-clinical services such as transportation, advocacy, and recreation.  They described four main obstacles that prevent some of our seniors from using senior services:--Financial constraints--Transportation difficulties-- Lack of awareness of services.
