Our Purpose

Our purpose is to build local abolitionist organizing networks led by incarcerated people. We seek to build abolitionist education, organizing, and community inside of prisons in Connecticut and across prison walls for the aim of prison abolition—ending incarceration in all of its forms. As a group of currently and formerly incarcerated people and allies, we understand intimately, politically, spiritually, that incarceration and systems of punishment must end and that to bring about their end, we must build forms of solidarity, care, empowerment, and organizing that seeds and puts into practice a new consciousness of love, liberation, resistance, and interdependence. Our organizing is the first abolitionist initiative in our state led by people impacted by systems of incarceration.
