Our Purpose

Harvest for Health supports agriculture education at University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond to outreach sites. Harvest For Health (HFH) implements resources and educational curriculum to raise awareness of healthy eating and the importance of sustainable agriculture to school aged children. HFH is intended to inspire the hearts, minds and taste buds of students, providing exciting and creative hands-on experiences in organic gardening, ecology, recycling, nutrition, food preparation and energy conservation. Through actively involving participants in planning, promoting, and follow through, HFH also provides a forum for leadership development, team building, and the development of a service ethic. The Harvest for Health farm and garden at Bryant Pond 4-H Center is an agricultural resource for many area schools and community members.
