Our Purpose

The specific purposes of the organization include, but are not limited to, meeting the needs of underserved populations in Maine by
  • Supporting the good health and welfare of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers
  • Providing access to needed care, information, and community resources
  • Promoting vaccinations and preventive care
  • Building a cadre of multi-lingual community health workers with a focus on domestic violence, healthy environments, and stable family life
  • Make available direct care services as a enrolled DHHS service provider
  • Make arrangements for and refer immigrant to government benefits, employment agencies, social services, ethnic community-based organizations, and food banks
  • Run regular “clean environment, good nutrition, and healthy you” education programs
  • Deliver critical programming on important aspects of health especially related to women’s health, men’s health, children’s health, elder care, and youth summer and winter sports camps
  • Create and deliver specialized messages to different groups about preventing COVID-19/Variants and other diseases and conditions within the communities
  • Bring a new appreciation of stable home life that includes conflict resolution among healthy families”, “conflicted youth and how to talk to your parents”, “sad and depressed new mothers-how to seek help”, and “parents getting along.”
