Our Purpose

To develop effective local solutions to global climate change. BCP collaborates with municipal officials, community and state organizations, businesses and volunteers to carry out projects that promote energy efficiency and expanded use of renewable energy sources while reducing carbon emissions. In particular, BCP works to: 1) Improve energy efficiency in homes and businesses by encouraging upgrades in lighting, heating systems, motors and weatherization; 2) Reduce fossil fuel use in motor vehicles and lawn equipment by promoting the use of alternative fuels, carpooling, reduced idling, mass transit and smart-growth practices; 3) Promote the use of renewable energy sources such as biomass and solar to generate heat and electricity; and 4) Provide information to the public about climate change and sustainable technologies and practices.

Summary of Projects
