Boston Hassle
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to document local and underground culture of New England. Boston Hassle, active since 2011, is a platform for reporting on the arts, culture, and local issues that are generated from the ground up. Our verticals include music, arts, film, and extras, all of which focus on underrepresented and/or independent art and events. Boston Hassle is centered around Boston but also publishes reporting about New England at large. Our editorial staff is all-volunteer, and writers and editors consist of a proletarian mix of service workers, students, budding journalists, and proponents of independent arts and media. We foster a community of writers and citizen journalists who uncover vital elements of our city routinely ignored by mainstream media and allow up-and-coming writers a platform for their work. We are more than a blog – we are a living archive of a Boston that is unadvertised and uncelebrated. In 2021, we expanded our offerings to provide a LISTSERV and resource guide for the purpose of helping Boston-area creatives, writers, and musicians more easily connect and grow their careers and practices.
