Our purpose is to respond to and oppose a Niagara Bottling Co plant from coming to Bloomfield and consuming 1.8 million gallons of water per day from the public water supply (MDC). Niagara proposes to produce 2.8 million single-use plastic bottles a day and ship outside the watershed. The town of Bloomfield, under the guise of economic development has granted Niagara a tax abatement and the MDC has offered Niagara a special discount rate for water purchase and wastewater discharge.
