The Billerica Power Plant received a small grant in 2008 to inform and educate residents in the four communities and beyond that would be impacted by a 348 MW gas-fired/diesel back up six stack power plant that is currently under consideration. The location is extremely close in proximity to homes day care centers, parks and businesses. Residents in the host community and the three surrounding communities are largely unaware of the proposal and our hope is to continue to move them to action via their legislators at the state level and their local officials.
