Our Purpose

Bike Recycle Vermont: - Provides Transportation Each year we refurbish hundreds of bicycles and sell them to eligible community members. By providing people with transportation, we're opening doors, enriching lives and expanding opportunities. A bike is a healthy, non-polluting means of transportation that provides access to work, chores, recreation, and more. - Provides Youth Training We start with a bike that needs repair and turn it into an opportunity to connect with local youth. We work with local schools and social service agencies to create hands-on learning experiences from skilled bike mechanics. Youth ages 8 to 18 important technical and communication skills that will help them in their everyday lives. - Helps Reduce Waste We reuse bikes languishing in storage, or refurbish those that otherwise may be destined for a landfill. Whatever we can't use, we recycle. Bike parts that aren't salvageable may take on a new live elsewhere through Bike Recycle Designs.
