Our Purpose

to preserve, protect, and defend the unique environment of Northwest Connecticut and the Berkshires region of Massachusetts. As a a broad-based environmental organization, we conduct educational/environmental campaigns and/or forums on the subjects of: cell tower siting; water and air quality; preservation of farmland, wildlife, vernal pools, and open space; plus ridgeline and conservation area protection.

Summary of Projects

BLEC received a grant in 2000 to help fund a conference to review the current state of affairs dealing with siting of Telecommunications Towers for the wireless industry.
