The Bennington Berkshire Citizens Coalition (formerly Concerned Citizens of Pownal) received a grant in 2010 for general organizational support to include legal and court fees, outreach materials inclduing lawn signs and mapping. The proposed biomass plant would burn waste wood (the tops and branches of trees from logging operations) and will need to be permitted through the VT Public Service Board.
