Our purpose is to develop and maintain a community garden space at our elementary school.  Our school has a small raised bed garden that was started 3 years ago by a community volunteer.  Since his passing the maintenance work has fallen to a volunteer with our after school program.  We are expanding this work within the school to bring this project to all students in the building as well as the community.  The attached pictures are from the original garden opening in April 2014.Our goal is to help our students understand where food comes from through hands on experiences and connected curriculum. We also want to improve and support our school community's access to fresh, local produce through a free farmers market program.
