Our Purpose

Our purpose is to dismantle the barriers of “survival-mode” living for women transitioning from domestic violence shelters in Detroit. The overarching goal of our work is to establish a permanent, site-specific Resilience Hub that bridges the gap between emergency crisis intervention and successful community reintegration. We formed this project after identifying a critical missing step in the recovery journey: the restoration of a woman’s dignity, self-worth, and nervous system health. Too often, support ends at immediate safety, without addressing the long-term healing required for true stability. We do this work because we believe that true sovereignty is impossible without emotional and physical well-being. Through restorative, high-quality wellness experiences and ongoing advocacy, we provide women with more than temporary relief we equip them with a sustainable “Healthy Living Blueprint.”Our goal is for every woman in our program to leave with tangible self-care tools, renewed confidence, and the capacity to lead her family and pursue economic independence. Ultimately, we aim to transform the culture of recovery in Detroit from a model of survival to one of thrivingwhere survivors return to their communities as empowered leaders and stable heads of households.
