Our Purpose

508 C.H.E.E.R.S. (Cultural, Health, Equity, Empowerment, Resources & Service) was created to remind our community that when we GIVE, we GROW. Our big-picture goal is to cultivate a generation of youth who lead with empathy, pride, and purpose, transforming acts of service into lasting systems of care. We believe Worcester’s greatest strength is its people, and when young people are given tools, mentors, and opportunities to serve, they not only change their neighborhoods but also their sense of self-worth.We formed this group because we saw gaps, families struggling with food insecurity, youth lacking safe outlets, and cultural stories being lost. Instead of waiting for large institutions to fix it, we started small: cooking together, serving 100 meals a month to families in need, mentoring girls, and creating safe spaces for youth expression. Every project connects culture, wellness, and service, showing that change starts at the grassroots level. Our goal isn’t just to run programs, it’s to build a sustainable culture of giving, youth leadership, and community connection. We envision Worcester where every young person knows their voice matters, where families feel supported, and where service is celebrated as the heartbeat of community growth. When we all do a little, the results will be a lot and most importantly our youth know that When we GIVE, We GROW!
