to inform people of the dangers of climate change and promote the use of renewable and alternative sources of energy. We are very concerned with the growth of extreme energy extraction, viewing tar sands mining and fracking as fossil fuel development that endangers the future of our world. Members of our group were a core part of two train blockades in Maine designed to stop the transport of fracked oil through the state and raise awareness of the dangers of transporting this material. Once a month our group holds a climate vigil in Belfast. This year 350 Waldo County sponsored the Summer Climate Riders while they stayed in Belfast. Our group was one of three American groups that supported the Canadian action Defend Our Climate, Defend Our Communities. We have set up information booths at four farmer's markets in Waldo County. Our members have traveled throughout New England to support like-minded groups.
