Our Purpose

Our purpose is to...Construct bog bridges, also known as Alaskand boardwalks, puncheon or split lof bridges at Reynolds Landing in the Town of West Bridgewater Massachusetts. These are contructed to provide a stable walking surface over wet marshy areas. The Town River Pond is located in the southeastern section of town that connects to the Taunton River in Bridgewater. Its elevastion is 45 ft. and covers 18 acres, with the only public access via Ash Street (Reyolds Landing) conoe ramp on the western side of the pond. The Conservation Commission's primary goal is the protection of wetlands and open space management. According to the Town of West Bridgewater Open Space Plan a recommendation is to add access points to the River for boating, kayaking, sightseeing and possible swimming. With the additions of the bog bridges at Reynolds Landing will provide a sustainable and accesible solution for trails in wetlands and other areas with wet or delicate ground benefiting both the environment and outdoor enthusiasts.
