Our Purpose

Our purpose is to... provide mutual aid, in the form of community support and direct resources, to individuals and communities whose needs are intensified by the COVID-19 crisis. More than 900 community members from across Western MA are working together in a Slack network and a website that aims to connect requests for supplies (e.g. groceries) and services (e.g. mental health support) with volunteer offers and group resources to address those needs. We currently have 36 teams organized by topic (e.g. meal prep, financial aid) and location (e.g. the town of Greenfield) who conduct their own meetings and communicate to the Mutual Aid Network at large through Slack updates. We are also networking with regional, established grassroots organizations to ensure a broad-based response in the communities we are serving. We care about each other deeply and are committed to building a stronger, more resilient community and instilling permanent pathways for mutual aid and meaningful solidarity in our region.
