Huneebee Project seeks to address the multitude of issues that come with the transition to adulthood for systems-involved youth - joblessness, homelessness, and physical and mental health conditions - while simultaneously increasing the presence of honey bee hives, pollinator gardens, and their associated benefits within our city and, particularly, amongst disinvested neighborhoods.Huneebee operates an online marketplace with honey and beeswax products, hosts free community-based workshops on backyard beekeeping, native bees, and planting for pollinators, and oversees a hive and pollinator plot sponsorship initiative. Through these offerings and experiences, we foster community building, collaboration, appreciation for and connection to nature, kinship, and shared responsibility for our youths' futures.
