GreenRoots', a resident-led organization, mission is to achieve environmental justice and greater quality of life through collective action, unity, education and youth leadership across neighborhoods and communities.   GreenRoots fosters strong youth organizing through the Environmental Chelsea Organizers (ECO) youth crew.  ECO works on youth empowerment, civic engagement and environmental justice. ECO is empowered to develop their own workplan, engagement strategies and campaigns to involve their peers in efforts to reclaim their urban environment while tackling issues important to youth.
