Rhode Island Interfaith Power and Light (RI-IPL) received a small grant in 2008 to perform outreach in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts among interfaith congregations. RI-IPL offers four levels of education, general background on global warming and its moral dimensions, options to make a house of worship more energy efficient, options to congregants to reduce the carbon footprint of their household, nature walks with children in conjunction with the New Dawn Earth Center.
Rhode Island Interfaith Power & Light received a grant in 2007 to perform outreach in Rhode Island and SE Massachusetts among interfaith congregations, in order to create a stable participation base with the goal of stimulating local grassroots empowerment to limit climate change and its attendant social injustice. Each of RIIPL's chapters works both independently and networked to bring the faith community forward in outreach, advocacy and education.
