Our Purpose

Recycle-A-Bike (RAB) seeks to educate, empower and build community by connecting people and bicycles. As a community bike shop, we provide access not only to refurbished bicycles but to practical bike maintenance and safe cycling skills, with the ultimate goal of getting affordable and sustainable transportation to those in need. RAB seeks to serve as a valuable resource hub for the community at large, in the effort to empower bicycle riders, increase the overall number of bicyclists, and deepen the connections within the cycling community. We believe mobility on a bicycle is an expression of freedom and equality, and we encourage members of the public to participate in cycling as part of a healthy and active lifestyle – not just for recreation, but also as a viable, and environmentally responsible mode of transportation.

The group notes that providing an environmentally, cost-effective source of power perfectly aligns with their mission to provide the greater Providence area with an environmentally friendly and low cost means of transportation.
