What’s Up Worcester was born out of a simple but urgent need: Worcester deserves to see itself honestly and fully reflected in its own stories. Too often, national headlines drown out the issues and victories happening right here in our neighborhoods. We formed this project to make local news accessible, relatable, and rooted in the people who actually live here.Our goal is to build trust through proximity and accountability. When we cover City Hall, we’re talking about decisions that shape the schools our kids attend, the buses we ride, and the sidewalks we walk. When we highlight a small business or a community event, it’s because those are the places and moments that keep Worcester strong.We do this work because local news is not a luxury; it’s a necessity for community power.
