The group received a grant in 2004 to distribute to every household in Watertown a Pesticide Awareness and Less Toxic Alternatives pamphlet that the organization has developed in cooperation with the Watertown Board of Health. In 2002 WCES received support to build a portable, attention-commanding exhibit for educating Watertown residents about the health and environmental risks of pesticides.
Watertown Citizens for Environmental Safety
Our Purpose
to protect the local environment, reduce pesticide use, and promote peace & social justice and encourage all citizens of Watertown to participate in local government. The Environmental Task Force has a goal to engage town residents in practical aspects of a sustainable lifestyle from reducing consumption to recycling and sustainable agriculture. The task force is fortunate to operate within a community of environmental and social activists and we work to support this network.
