Our Purpose

The Warner Area Community Land Trust is a non-profit organization, in the process of formation, that connects people to place and builds local resilience in the Warner area.  WACLT serves the community through property stewardship and education, holding lands and buildings in common to provide a framework for:
  • Affordable housing
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Local economic revitalization
  • Open space preservation
The Warner Area Community Land Trust supports an interconnected local economy by making housing and land permanently available and affordable to a diverse community.  The Community Land Trust works to empower a culture of shared ownership and responsibility to place. The Warner Area Community Land Trust implements innovative approaches to short-term and long-term housing in an equitable manner.  We help connect the next generation of farmers and foresters with land and techniques to enrich soils, increase biodiversity and improve watersheds.WACLT supports small scale enterprises that contribute to a resilient local economy. Our work supports natural communities as well as human communities.  In the spirit of the Grange, WACLT works to combine the knowledge and resources of the older generation with the enthusiasm of the younger generations to improve the community.
