Our purpose is to... 1.  Build on the legacy of our community ancestors that had the foresight to save the land from the I-95 highway project and to reclaim it as a community garden in the1960's.   Having finally and joyfully secured the deed to the the Uintied Neighbors of Lower Roxbury Community Garden fromthe Mayor's office of Housing in last year insuring the land continue to be  a community garden until 2055 and beyond.We specifically do this work to honor Mrs. Gretchen Jackson and Mr. Jimmy Guilford, two of the founding UNLRCG members last wishes, "Don't lose that land and don't forget the history."Beginning in the 2021 season we will aligned our growing season with our local food pantry to be able to contribute food to more closely match thier distribution dates for hyper local synchronicity.
