The United Nations Community Development Corp (UNCDC) was formed in 2023 by a diverse group of Muslim, Christian, and Jewish community members who share a commitment to civic engagement, justice, and supporting vulnerable communities. Our big-picture goal is to build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods where all residents have access to basic needs such as food security, affordable housing, and culturally appropriate resources like halal meals in schools. We aim to foster peace, equality, and cooperation across faiths and backgrounds, while empowering community members to participate in decisions that affect their lives. By managing spaces like the Cook Street Community Garden, running monthly pop-up food pantries, and organizing annual community events, we create opportunities for connection, mutual support, and collective action. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that no family goes hungry, everyone has a voice, and the community thrives through inclusion, shared responsibility, and sustained engagement.
