Our Purpose

At Turtle Island Community Capital our mission is to empower native and underinvested communities and foster economic , food and energy sovereignty. We aim to drive long-term community revitalization by supporting clean energy, the blue-green economy, small business development, and infrastructure projects in underserved tribal regions and LIDAC zones. By leveraging strategic partnerships, financial products, and culturally informed approaches, we seek to build financial capacity, create generational wealth, and enhance the quality of life in Native and historically underserved communities. This mission reflects our focus on: Direct investment in other Native CDFIs to create a multiplier effect in local economies.Sustainable community development through investments in clean energy, housing, and infrastructure.Partnerships with Native organizations and tribes, ensuring that solutions are driven by the communities they serve.Economic self-sufficiency by providing long-term, low-cost capital while generating a stable revenue stream to support ongoing operations. Our emerging CDFI aims to provide tailored financial services and resources that address the unique challenges our communities face, including access to capital for housing, renewable energy projects, small business development, and beyond.
