Thrill Studios
Our Purpose
Thrill Studio members acknowledge that income-based differences in youth extracurricular participation are on the rise, and these differences greatly affect later outcomes. This disparity exacerbates the already-growing income achievement gap that has kept poor BIPOC young adolescents behind in school and later in life. To address this problem Thrill Studios has developed a black young adult music production program for marginalized artists. Thrill Studios will engage 10-15 young BIPOC artists between the ages of 16-25 each year teaching them lessons in sound engineering, beat making, sampling, videography, photography, event managing/hosting, business modeling, and marketing and branding for artistsTo support the proliferation of art and culture within our communities, We want to provide the next generation of BIPOC artists, community organizers, and activists with the opportunities to continue their craft and build upon the efforts of cultural pioneers. Thrill Studios provides a holistic space for artists to help facilitate BIPOC youth's development through their teen empowerment program, in which local youth are invited to the studios twice a week for 2-hour sessions. These youth are given the same opportunities as other young artists with access to sound engineering, music curation, collaboration, writing assistance, and branding and marketing tools. Youth are typically ranging from 14 to 25 years of age.
