Our Purpose

Our purpose is to provide services, skills and activities to community members in Providence, predominately the southside of Providence.  The Rosa Parks Resource Center was started to address needs of inner city Black and Brown individuals and families. Our center is located on the southside of Providence.   We recognized that our area has many individuals and families that are justice involved, elderly, people with disabilities, immigrants, and low income.  Our purpose is to connect with them to provide services and skills to strengthen their independence, individual or family resources for personal sustainability and opportunities for community cohesion. We do this through discussion and trainings on growing food, saving and storing food, clothing offerings, educational and cultural programs through music, exercise and civic involvement.
