Our Purpose

The purpose of this nonprofit is to promote the beautification, revitalization, and preservation of the Oakland Beach community through volunteer efforts, public engagement, and community improvement projects. This organization operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to revitalize Oakland Beach by promoting community Pride, beautification and maintenance. Oakland Beach has faced decades of disinvestment, leaving many properties neglected and blighted. The buildings and common - open areas that visitors see when entering the neighborhood sets a negative tone that harms community pride and discourages economic growth. Beautifying the common areas through public art and maintaining the neighborhood's open area by mitigating invasive species that are overgrowing and  stiffling native plants presents a unique opportunity to reshape perceptions, strengthen identity, and signal renewal for the community while supporting local businesses that depend on tourism.  We have partnered with the local high school to mentor seniors in community involvement and have the seniors involved in research, planning, networking and physically working with our beautification projects.  We have also partnered with a local veterans association to inovled veterans in the beautification of the community.
