Land & Sea Together RI c/o The Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to is to reduce stress for Farmers, Foresters, and Fishery Enterprises, Workers & Their Families in Rhode Island. We achieve this through our program by giving free access to: a community of statewide industry leaders, confidential support with a RI-based Employee Assistance Agency (EAP), consultation for legal, financial, eldercare, childcare, nutrition, career, and other resources, qualified referrals to the most effective resources, and access to free counseling sessions with a licensed clinician. In October 2021, U.S. Senators Moran and Marshall announced $500,000 USDA Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) funding per state, with the aim of connecting agricultural workers to mental health resources. In 2022, we created Land & Sea Together with Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Agriculture, implemented by the Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI with the state’s FRSAN funding. We have since pulled together over 25 different organizational partners across the state of Rhode Island to build a network of support for the health and well-being of the Farming, Fishing, and Forestry communities in Rhode Island. These communities keep Rhode Islanders fed and tend to our landscapes. But workers in these fields often face challenging and unpredictable conditions with limited support.
