IFKA Community Services was founded in response to the systemic inequities immigrant and refugee families face in Lewiston. We exist to ensure our communities are not left out of decisions that affect our lives, and to create safe, culturally responsive spaces where youth and families can thrive.Our goal is to build community power by investing in young people, supporting families, and removing barriers that limit access to opportunity. We believe those most impacted must lead the solutions. Through our programs, youth build confidence, leadership, and a sense of belonging, while families gain stability and connection.Our work contributes to a living economy by supporting working families, strengthening local networks, and preparing youth to fully participate in and shape the future of our community. We also advance environmental health by creating safe spaces, increasing access to physical activity, and supporting overall well-being.Ultimately, we are working toward a future where our community has the power, resources, and voice to create lasting, community-led solutions and a more just, healthy, and equitable society.
